  • About The Role

  • We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Communities & Sustainable Economy Assistant to join our team. This role plays an important part in ensuring the smooth running of administrative processes and supporting service delivery across the department.
     
    You will act as a key point of contact for members of the public and internal stakeholders, handling enquiries, supporting communications, maintaining records, and assisting with operational activities such as meetings, reports and community grant administration. You will also be a key member of the Safeguarding team, helping to fulfil the Council’s Statutory Duties.

    Some of your responsibilities:
    • Act as a first point of contact for public enquiries, prioritising and responding to requests received via telephone, email (including managing shared inboxes) and face-to-face.
    • Maintain accurate client database records, ensuring information is securely stored and managed in line with legislative requirements.
    • Coordinate and organise internal and external meetings, including booking venues, scheduling attendees, preparing agendas and distributing documentation.
    • Produce presentation materials tailored to different audiences and support the creation or updating of web pages with guidance from IT and communications colleagues.

    You will need
    • Qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 1 or GCSE in Maths and English
    • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
    • Use of Microsoft office applications and data recording
    • Natural and engaging style of communication
    • Ability to apply good judgement and query issues where appropriate
